I’m sure many of you are already aware of this but I was not. I was examining an Orchid bloom – putting the critical eye to it. I made a simply fascinating discovery! There is a tiny dancer – a Ballerina – inside the Orchid flower. Arms reaching upward, hands on head. You can even make out the costume and skirt.
It raises the question
You know the old debate: Does the refrigerator light really turn off when the door is closed? We may never know. Well, here is another question: Do you suppose the Orchid Ballerina does pirouettes when we are not looking. I suspect she does. At least I’d like to think so. She is there to delight us, I am certain of it. And another thing. She danced all the way through 2021. That’s how I’d like to think I handled it – just danced through the year.
Was 2021 simply fascinating for you?
I dare say most would find other descriptors of 2021 than “simply fascinating.” But there are elements that were just that. Just think, if you are reading this, you survived 2021! Congratulations. At some level that alone is simply fascinating. But there is more. We are stronger as a people today than a year ago. For many, faith has been strengthened. It may have been strengthened through a specific tragic event, or an incredibly positive event, but we are stronger for it. I believe we will never be given more than we can endure. And as we battle heartache or other challenges, or have occasion to celebrate, our endurance and faith builds to amazing levels.
Can you relate to this guy right now?
Let’s just do it. Forget about 2021 and Hit 2022 hard. Leave the past in the past and boldly move forward into 2022. As I have previously quoted Ragnar Lothbrok, “Don’t waste your time looking back, you’re not headed that way.” (Is anyone wondering who Ragnar Lothbrok is? Stay tuned, I’m certain I’ll be speaking of him again.)
I think 2021 taught us to take nothing for granted. Be it friendship or ‘bathroom tissue’. Take nothing for granted. Appreciate the moment. Receive the day with a thankful heart and embrace every remnant of joy that crosses your path.
Looking forward to 2022
And why shouldn’t we? It is a New Year! Will it be better than last year? We can certainly hope it is. But if it is not, we are better prepared, by surviving 2021, to deal with whatever nastiness 2022 may have in store. We come from strong stock. Generations before us had their hardships – great hardships – and they prevailed. I will face the day and its challenges in their honor. That said, I am praying for a greater 2022. A year of positive gains, a year to seek out joy and beauty, more dancing Ballerinas and an abundance of bathroom tissue! (OK, that last one was kind of weird. I beg your pardon.)
What else is simply fascinating?
Chickadees! I just love those little guys. Let’s take a break and look at a couple Chickadee photos for the sheer fun of it!
You see? Life is simply fascinating! I hope you learned one or two new things in this blog post. We learn so much from living. Let’s keep it going in 2022!

Conclusion
Look at it this way, we may be only five minutes away from a miracle! Keep positive. Continue learning. Keep loving. Stock up on bathroom tissue. And exercise – great for both body and mind! Let 2022 begin! Peace.
