This juvenile Cardinal was working off-season to combat what could have potentially been a case of winter blues. But blue he is not – he is now a lovely hue of red! And that is what we ought to do as well. (Not turn red.) But practice, exercise and prepare. Establish habits and routines that yield positive results.
As Henry Ford said, you can see enthusiasm in the eyes
You can see the enthusiasm in this Cardinals eyes. Energy for life! That’s what we can learn from the Cardinal. Practice healthy living behaviors, exercise our whole body and mind, prepare for the winter season by having good outdoor clothing, vehicle tuned up, plans for snow removal. All that fun winter stuff.
But look where we are! Tomorrow we will have 9 hours and 40 minutes of daylight. That’s pretty good! At the beginning of January it was only 8 hours and 45 minutes. We’ve gained nearly an hour of daylight in the last month! Hang in there!

I like that juvenile Cardinal so much, I’m going to give him a full-length presentation right here in the blog post body. He is such a enthusiastic bird – you can see it in the eyes!

We made it through a tough month – things are looking up
January can be a tough month to keep spirits high. But we’re practically through it now. February 1st is next Tuesday. Can you believe it? The countdown continues. Hang in there!
