It’s Friday. I’m feeling some anticipation for a fun weekend – feeling like having some fun with the blog post today. As the title asks, what’s the most ridiculous word you have ever used? I’ll go first. It goes back to high school. I was paging through the dictionary (this was pre-internet, mind you, and I was looking for something to kill a study hour.) I was looking for the longest word in the book. And I think I found it. (I’m telling you, I was doing this for entertainment! It was the ’70’s for crying out loud! We were easily amused. The two best things to come out of the ’70’s were Pet Rocks and Rock ‘n Roll!)
What’s the most ridiculous word?
The word I found was: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. Now isn’t that one to hang your hat on! In layman’s terms it is basically a medical condition – a pneumonia caused by microscopic volcanic silicone dust. I think it would be a great word for a spelling bee. Anyway, I used it in a paper I wrote. It was used accurately but I had to really work to get there! My English instructor was only mildly amused. Alright, enough on that. NEXT!
Super Bowl Winner and Penguins
How about the Super Bowl. Any favorites? Parties planned? Bengals and Rams, correct? (You kind of get a sense of my level of involvement here.) I want the Bengals to win because I saw a small group of Penguins from the Cincinnati Zoo pick the Bengals in a little prediction event this morning. That’s all it took for me to become a Bengals fan. Penguins are really cool birds. Go Bengals!! NEXT!
The Green Heron
I’ve got this photo of a Green Heron. It is actually photo art as it is more of an impressionistic interpretation. I really like the photo. The Heron is deadeye serious about something. He flew to within 20 feet of my location and studied me. Additionally, he put on a little dance act. It was really strange. The Heron kept pulling these moves and I continued to photograph him. Here is probably my favorite photo of the guy:
What’s the most comfortable shoe you can wear?
Let’s see. What else can we discuss today? How about Sanuk Footwear. I’m on my second pair. Probably the most comfortable casual wear slip-on I have ever worn. They are awesome! Plus, they don’t create a static charge when I’m working at my computer. I had some leather soled slippers that nearly zapped my monitor into oblivion with the static charges they were generating. Check out Sanuk Footwear. Your feet will thank you! NEXT!
We covered some pretty strange stuff today. That’s OK. We’re living in strange times. I see too many people getting bent out of shape over little stuff. Don’t let the little stuff eat you up. Life is too short. Take time to laugh at stuff. Offer words of encouragement. Sing a song, dance like nobody is watching! We can make the most of every day. “Start where you’re at. Work with what you have. Make the most of it.” A rough paraphrasing from Arthur Ashe, tennis star. Great advice. Every day holds the potential for a miracle. I hope you might connect with your miracle! Maybe tomorrow? I hope so. For now, Peace.
