That’s right. You read correctly. What’s coming? Springtime! The featured photo of a pair of Wild Turkey Hens was taken on March 4, 2021. Today is January 24, 2022. That is only 5 1/2 weeks away! (January 24 to March 4.) Notice the snow melt. Notice the bare ground. Yes, we can do this. It’s coming – and it won’t be long now!
Warm a cold winter day
What better way to warm a cold winter day than to view a photo of warmer days. Minnesota warm, that is. I don’t travel much so I can’t speak on Cancun warm. I understand that is pretty warm. The seasons of Minnesota are a great fit for me. I enjoy each season to the fullest! Even winter!
It’s coming – bird migrations!
So much happens in Minnesota. We have bird migrations and bird stop overs. Lots to photograph. March and April are active Months for me with my photography. Lots of waterfowl coming through. I enjoy photographing waterfowl, especially birds in flight (BIF). Allow me to share a pretty cool BIF capture with you right now.
I love photographing Wood Ducks. Blasts of color and motion. With the nesting boxes I have located on the property, I enjoy the company of numerous Springtime Wood Ducks. In addition, with the ice melt from the lake, I have opportunity to view Teal, Bufflehead, Mallards, Hooded Mergansers, Canadian Geese and shore birds. It is a wonderful time of year!
Springtime: it’s coming
Let the title of this post sink in, it’s coming. Springtime is coming! Only 5 1/2 weeks away. Granted, not the official first day of Spring, but temperatures are much more civil and the warmth from the sun is amazing! As we Minnesotans have done since we first became a state – and before that – we can endure winter. Sure, we may get blasted a time or two in the next 5 1/2 weeks but we’ll just brush it off, enjoy the longer periods of daylight and soak up the warmth of the sun. My recliner is strategically position to catch as much morning sun as possible. Life is good!
Wild Turkey hen
Here is another photo I want to share of a Wild Turkey Hen on a Spring-like day. Look closely and you will see beads of water on its back. The photo is another impressionistic composition of mine and is available for sale in all sizes at RedBarnProject.com.
Closing
I’m sure there will be those out there that will blast me about springtime coming when we are in the throes of another wind chill warning. (There is actually one forecast for this evening – minus fifty below!) Don’t let that dissuade you. Spring IS coming. Sure, there may be bumps along the road but we’re closer today than we have been all year to glorious springtime.
If you have any questions regarding the prints I have offered for sale, please contact me. As for now: Peace.
